ReserveGauge is a native macOS app and this website. The data controller is Studea Limited, registered in England and Wales under company number 17228961. Contact hello@reservegauge.com.
Data on your Mac
ReserveGauge has no user account. It reads supported providers' local files, command-line tools and credentials to request current allowance information directly from the provider you chose. It also reads local Codex and Claude Code session data to calculate history and forecasts. Provider credentials go only to that provider, not to Studea. ReserveGauge stores snapshots, settings and logs in its Application Support folder and macOS preferences. Older installations may also retain legacy trial or licence details. Usage history is kept for 30 days by default and can be cleared in Settings.
If you enable the activity orb or Claude status-line bridge, ReserveGauge makes labelled, reversible changes to your Claude Code or Codex configuration and stores backups and helper scripts locally. A Claude OAuth refresh may update Claude Code's Keychain credential and keeps a local Keychain backup first. These optional integrations can be removed in Settings.
Website analytics
We use cookieless Ahrefs Web Analytics for aggregate page measurement. If you allow optional analytics cookies, Google Analytics 4 measures page views and download starts. Google Analytics does not load until you consent. We do not use advertising trackers or sell personal data.
. This denies analytics storage, stops ReserveGauge sending further Google Analytics events, removes the loaded Google script and deletes its accessible cookies on this browser. It does not affect processing that occurred before withdrawal.
Download and app measurement
Cloudflare handles website and download requests and necessarily receives network information such as your IP address. For a completed, likely-human download, Studea receives an operational email containing the referral source, browser or Homebrew user agent, network organisation and an approximate city, region and country derived by Cloudflare. We use this to distinguish working downloads from automated traffic.
The app sends anonymous, one-time counter requests when it first launches, finds a provider and completes its first local reading. Older versions may also have sent legacy trial, offer or checkout counter events. A legacy first-launch notification may include the request's approximate location and user agent. The remaining events only increase aggregate counters. None contains an account identifier, provider name, allowance value, transcript or usage history, and Studea does not store the request IP address in its product-measurement database. Daily counter totals expire after 120 days; running aggregate totals do not identify a person.
Historic purchases and licensing
ReserveGauge is now free. For purchases made before it became free, Lemon Squeezy acted as merchant of record and collected payment and billing details under its privacy policy. Studea retains the resulting order, customer email, amount, test-status and licence information where needed for support, refunds, fraud prevention, accounting or legal obligations. Older app versions may store a key, customer email, instance identifier and last validation date locally.
If you previously requested a trial reminder or product updates, we may retain your email address, signup source and legacy reminder details. The paid trial-reminder campaign is disabled and those records will not trigger upgrade emails. We may use a product-update address only for updates you requested, based on your consent. Ask us to remove you at any time. If you email support, we use your address, message and any diagnostic information you choose to include to respond and maintain a support record.
Why we use personal data
- Contract: to support historic purchases and provide requested support.
- Consent: for optional Google Analytics and requested emails. You may withdraw consent at any time.
- Legitimate interests: to secure and operate the site, understand whether downloads and first use work, measure aggregate website use and prevent fraud. We limit these records and do not collect app usage history.
- Legal obligation: where we must retain transaction or company records.
Who receives data
We use Cloudflare for hosting, security, counters and email routing; Ahrefs and, with consent, Google for website analytics; Resend for operational and requested email; and an email-hosting provider for support. Lemon Squeezy acted as an independent controller and merchant of record for historic purchases. These providers may process data outside the UK. Where UK data-transfer rules apply, we rely on the provider's applicable UK adequacy coverage or contractual transfer safeguards. Contact us for information about the safeguard used for a particular provider.
OpenAI, Anthropic, xAI and GitHub receive requests from the app only when you enable their provider. They handle those requests under your account and their own terms; Studea does not receive the credentials or responses.
How long we keep data
Local app data remains on your Mac until the app's retention setting removes history or you delete it. We keep email-update details until you withdraw or the list is retired; support correspondence while it is needed to resolve and evidence the request; operational download and launch emails while needed to check funnel quality and security; and purchase and licence records for licence support and any applicable tax, accounting, fraud or legal period. Analytics data follows the retention setting in the relevant analytics service. We delete or anonymise personal data when it is no longer needed for these purposes.
Delete local app data
“Reset history” in Settings deletes stored usage snapshots only. For a complete removal, disable the activity orb and uninstall the Claude bridge first. Quit ReserveGauge, delete ~/Library/Application Support/ReserveGauge, then run defaults delete com.reservegauge.app in Terminal. Deleting the app bundle alone does not remove these files or optional provider-configuration changes. Contact us if an older installation has a licence seat you want removed or if you need help.
Your rights
Depending on the circumstances, UK data-protection law gives you rights to access, correct, erase, restrict or object to processing, and to receive portable data. You may withdraw consent at any time. These rights can be limited, for example where a legal record must be kept. Contact hello@reservegauge.com.
Your right to object
You may object at any time to processing based on our legitimate interests. Tell us what you object to at hello@reservegauge.com. We will stop unless we have compelling legitimate grounds or need the processing for legal claims.
Complaints
Please contact us first so we can investigate. You may also complain to the UK Information Commissioner's Office at ico.org.uk/make-a-complaint or by calling 0303 123 1113.
